Friends --
Well, now they’ve done it. The House passed the Obama/Reid/Pelosi health care “reform” legislation Sunday night on a 219-212 straight party-line vote against the will of the American people, and this devastating bill will now become law.
I’ve launched a petition to allow people in my state of South Dakota and all Americans to voice support for my efforts to repeal it. Please sign my petition today and post your thoughts so I can share them with my colleagues as the work begins to repeal this legislation.
Conservatives like us may have lost this round, but the fight for our nation’s fiscal health continues. I, for one, will not rest until we roll back this legislation and achieve true bipartisan reform that does not spend $2 trillion of taxpayer money that we don’t have.
Please forward this email to your friends and neighbors to help us spread the word that there are conservatives in the Senate who will keep fighting for true reform – reform to change the Washington-knows-best way of governing.
Passage of this bill was only achieved after unprecedented levels of backroom dealing, arm-twisting and vote brokering – exactly the kind of politics we were promised wouldn’t exist after the “hope and change” election of 2008. We now know just how hollow those promises were.
There’s only one way for us to have a chance to repeal this legislation: elect conservatives in November. We need your help for my reelection effort and for the efforts of conservatives on all levels of the ballot in 2010.
